Love Calls the Shots

About

All's fair in love and rivalries, right?

When two jealous doctors engage in a silent competition for their female colleague, it's anyone's guess who'll win her heart.

Will it be the rich bachelor or the jovial best friend who stepped out of the "hippie" '60s in his kaleidoscope V-dub?

Think you know the answer? You might be surprised!

Two weeks before Christmas, Dr. Saige Westbrook attends the prestigious Addington Christmas party, hoping to receive a coveted award. But her dreams come crashing around her. Disgraced by an awkward situation, she takes comfort in a dark-haired heartthrob who scoops her into his arms and carries her to safety. Smitten with his behavior, Saige asks the Addingtons' butler for his name, but the cold-hearted valet whisks her through the mansion's front door. Humiliated and heartbroken, she searches for her charming hero—until she meets the hunky Dr. Gray.

The moment the heart surgeon sets eyes on Saige at the St. Anne's Free Clinic for Kids, he flirts until it advances into a full-blown prank, a caper that inadvertently uncovers her character. As Gray gravitates toward her kindness, he regrets his status-conscious father's arranged match for him with pretentious Lilith, a snobby social climber. Is there any hope for him with Saige, given that he must first contend with Lilith and the sophomoric Dr. Aiden Littlefield?

Maybe not, because lovable Aiden Littlefield, a family physician and Saige's best friend, doesn't have friendship in mind with Saige Westbrook. Hoping to show her the joys of working with underprivileged children, he begs her to volunteer with him at the St. Anne's Free Clinic for Kids two weeks before Christmas. But Dr. Gray Addington enters the picture, and now, both men must up their game to win her heart.

Life swirls with uncertainty when love calls the shots!

Praise for this book

Treat yourself to a heartwarming romance tailor-made for the holidays with Deb Gardner Allard's Love Calls the Shots. After a chance encounter at the Addington Christmas party, Dr. Gray Addington can't seem to get the memory of Dr. Saige Westbrook out of his mind. While her best friend, Aiden Littlefield, wants Saige to marry him and treat underprivileged people all over the world, Saige dreams of being swept off her feet by a kind and attractive man. At Aiden's request, she agrees to volunteer at the St. Anne's free clinic during the Christmas holidays, where Saige runs into Gray again. They have an undeniable mutual attraction.

If contemporary romance with a love triangle between the main leads is your jam, Love Calls the Shots is a book you don't want to miss out on. Author Deb Gardner Allard infuses this wholesome tale full of romance, drama, humor, and heart with the Christmas spirit. The characters are likable, and as a reader, you wouldn't really mind if Saige ends up with either of the two main male characters. I also found Lilith to be a formidable adversary who added a lot of drama with her presence in Gray's life. The plot is paced well and has a couple of strategic twists and turns to keep readers hooked. In conclusion, this is a fantastic romance perfect for a cozy read during the upcoming holiday season. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and you should too!

Love Calls the Shots has wonderful characters—one of my favorites is Saige! It also has lots of charm. Gray and Aiden's rivalry in the St. Anne's Clinic for sick children was great. The tension in the book just kept me reading! I can't wait to read what Deb writes next!
